About the Slab House
Daniel and Simone Abella together with Head Chef Andy Jones welcome you to The Slab House Inn. The Slab House enjoys a reputation as the best pub to eat at in the Mendips.
A traditional oldie world pub, displaying many fine antiques. The Slab House was originally named during the time of the Black Death, when a 3 mile quarantine limit was imposed around Wells. Cautious farmers and traders would leave food, drink & other produce on a large slab outside the Inn for locals to come & collect.
Many centuries later The Slab House Inn is renowned for its excellent menu. In summer enjoy the 2 acres of gardens and sun patio and in the winter time the cosy log fires. Full a la carte menu available lunchtime and evenings. Specials board is also available, changed daily. Bar snacks are available each meal time except friday and Saturday evening and sunday lunchtimes.
